Information about the semester ticket

The transport ministries of the federal states have reached an agreement. There is a nationwide standardized Germany Semester Ticket for students from the 2024 summer semester on. This means that the current semester ticket will no longer be valid and will be converted into a `Deutschlandsemesterticket´. Information on this can be obtained from the relevant student body on the website of the semester ticket office.

Please note: The Campuscard will no longer serve as a semester ticket and cannot be used as a valid ticket for transportation. However, it is still necessary to validate the campus card in order to have a valid student ID card for the semester.

The Deutschlandsemesterticket is made available to you as a mobile ticket via the S-Bahn Berlin app. In the event of a ticket inspection, the digital Deutschlandsemesterticket must be presented together with a valid, official photo ID (e.g. identity card).

Please follow the detailed instructions for setting up the mobile phone ticket on the website of the semester ticket office. It is also important to note the information if you register late, as the ticket will only be made available to you after a few days.

The following persons are not entitled to a Deutschlandsemesterticket and this is not shown in their semester fees in the Self-Services-portal:

  • Multiple enrollees if Freie Universität is not the first university.
