Electrical devices that are to be disposed of, so-called old electrical devices, must be collected separately. Many buildings have collection points for this purpose, which you can find out about from your janitor or IT representative.

If you are unable to find out where to drop off old electrical equipment in your area, or if you would like to dispose of large appliances such as refrigerators and freezers, please contact the Sustainability & Energy Office, Special Waste Disposal Team.

ATTENTION:

• Batteries and rechargeable batteries must - as far as possible - be removed from old electrical equipment before disposal and placed separately in the used battery collection.
• For printers, please remove the toner cartridges and dispose of them separately. For details, please refer to Toner Cartridges.
• Please check whether a request for segregation must be submitted to the Asset Accounting Department of Freie Universität Berlin before disposing of a device.
